Great job, everyone! Congrats on finishing awesome works
Great to see such a big turnout, I wish I could have been more active.

Can I still drop by the party, even though I didn't have time to enter? :/
Too bad I missed the ruffle
This is the first workshop I didn't participate in due to RL time constraints, and I missed the fun of it.

Good luck everyone! Can't wait to see the final results

@Minami , are you kidding me !!! the party is as open as it can be, i am expecting quite some lurkers of this competition to show up at the party to admire their favorite artist from upclose ... and even some people that just heard the word party and decided to show up, seeing gw-en dj's mention their party scedule on air, and seeing i sortof invited guildwars2live to come by if they feel like it, they may have mentioned it at some of their live shows as well, so its far off from a secluded party to a select few ... and i think it should be, whats the point of winning if there isn't a big crowd to cheer you on as a winner

I really like the idea of gingerbread cookies. But, Djembe didn't appear to make the cookies just himself. To me, he made them for not only the Guild Wars community, but also for his friends and family. I took the liberty to go through all of the entries, and I carefully checked where each person chose to host their entry. He chose a blog. Moreover, the blog wasn't one just created for the sole purpose of this contest, it was done prior. It shows to me two things: he participated to show his love 6for cooking. And he really enjoys GW ."

Wintersday Party Announcements Transcripts!

During the party, I made the announcements via copy and paste from a script For all of you who missed it or want to reread it, here it is in all its quickly written and not proofread glory XD

Hi everyone and welcome to the Wintersday Workshop Award Ceremony
Starting at 11:00AM PST, I will be making award announcements every 10 mins.
Make sure you check out the GWG forum post for the complete announcement schedules,
as well as a list of all the winners and the prizes as they get announced here!
Alright, it's 11:00AM so time to announce the winners of the Bonus Awards!
First of all, I wanted to point out that all of the entrants did an amazing job,
so it was very difficult for all of us judges to choose winners!
Luckily, we have these bonus awards to give out
We actually have 7 to give out instead of 6.

Bonus Award 7 goes to a workshop participant who was very, very
close to winning one of The Best Progress Awards - making it to the second round!
This person has also made a wonderful donation to this party!
I am very happy to give this award to *Iceblue*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!

Bonus Award 6 goes to a workshop participant who was nominated for
several categories - mostly the Grentch Steals Wintersday Award!
Although one might not think Grentchy at first glance, one can definitely
see the talent behind the art of Gwen trapped in a Snowglobe!
I am very happy to give this award to *Muzai*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!

Bonus Award 5 goes to someone who made most of us immediately laugh!
This person was nominated in 3 categories - The Most Epic, Campfire, and Grentchy!
One thing we can all agree with though, is that Gaki definitely needed that present!
I am very happy to give this award to *Ferocious Thanatos*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!

Bonus Award 4 goes to a contestant that was mostly quiet in the workshop,
yet submitted a stunning traditional piece and gave truly wonderful comments
when voting for The People's Award.
I am very happy to give this award to *BlackXI*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!

Bonus Award 3 goes to another person that was mostly quiet in the workshop,
and submitted an amazing sculpture that was nominated for the Most Epic!
I am very happy to give this award to *Afrodita*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!

Bonus Award 2 goes to a contestant whose adorable entry was nominated
for all the awards (except Grentchy - who could possible vote them as Grentchy?).
In addition, this contestant was nominated many, many times for The People's Award,
and brought unintended hilarity to the thread with a "what has been seen,
cannot be unseen" moment
I am very happy to give this award to *Sura*!
Thank you participating and congratulations!

Bonus Award 1 goes to someone who was also very, very close to winning one
of the Best Progress Awards - ending up in round 2 - and was also highly
nominated for the Grentchy award as well as being active in the thread.
This piece makes us glad to have these extra bonus awards, because this
person truly deserves it with the final stunning piece.
I am very happy to give this award to *BadDrizztfan*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!

So, to wrap summarize our Bonus Awards (BA):
BA 7 - Iceblue; BA 6 - Muzai; BA 5 - Ferocious Thanatos; BA 4 - BlackXI;
BA 3 - Afrodita; BA 2 - Sura; BA 1 - BadDrizztfan!
Congratulations and the next announcement will be at 11:10 AM PST!

---

It is now time to announce The Grentch Steals Wintersday Award!
Not everyone loves the sweet and cuddly part of Wintersday -
what about the dark side? Nominees for this award showed the
judges that Wintersday is not just about Dwayna!
Two nominees especially stood out from the crowd and were in
a virtual tie until the very end - when the difference between
winner and runner-up was a mere 2 points!
Our runner-up was quite active at the start of the workshop and even made
a generous donation to the workshop prizes! This person also made it
to the second round for the Best Progress Award!
In the end, this person truly deserves one of the Grentch awards for
an amazing piece of Grenth winning over Dwayna!
I am very happy to give the second place runner up award to *Valdis the Unmaker*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!
The first place winner of this award goes to someone who was also
very active at the start of the workshop, even though the actual
entry was submitted later on in the workshop.
The amazing entry truly showed the spirit of Grentches stealing
Wintersday - even changing the name to Grentchday!
I am very happy to give the award to *Baktwerel*!

It is now time to announce the winners for The Campfire Award!
Nominees for this award made pieces that brought cheer and laughter!
As you can imagine, there were many, many nominees for this award!
The Runner Up for this award definitely brought cheer and laughter,
although maybe not for the subjects in the art piece!
Sometimes, you really need to keep an eye out for where that
blasted Mistletoe is as poor Dwayna and Grenth discovered!
I am very happy to give the second place/ Runner Up award to *Doctor Overlord*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!
While we had many nominees for The Campfire Award, one particular
entry dominated all the other nominees, showing this award really belonged
to this person and the adorable chibis in the art piece!
Not only showing warmth in art, this person also made a very generous
donation to the workshop as well, showing warmth in the person as well!
I am very happy to give this award to *` Marshmallow*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!
So, to summarize our Campfire Award (CA):
CA Winner - ` Marshmallow; CA Runner Up - Doctor Overlord!
Congratulations and the next announcement will be at 11:30 AM PST!

It is now time to announce the winners for The Most Epic Award!
Nominees for this award made pieces that were truly epic, stealing
our breath away and making us go "WOW"! While this was another
difficult category to choose winners for, I'm sure you'll all agree
that the two winners of this award absolutely deserve it!
The second place/Runner Up for this award was also very popular in the thread
and - thanks to votes from The People's Award - was also one of five final
candidates for the Wintersday Artist Extraordinaire Award!
In fact, one of the common themes in the comments is that we all want
to own this person's entry! After all, who wouldn't want an amazing
sculpture of Yakkington!
I am very happy to give the second place/Runner Up award to *Tee Wrex*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!
The first place winner of this award entered a truly epic entry that showed
that with a little help from a talented and creative artist, Guild Wars
characters can come together to create music together!
I am very happy to give this award to *Steelborn*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!
So, to summarize our Most Epic Award (MEA):
MEA Winner - Steelborn; MEA Runner Up - Tee Wrex!
Congratulations and the next announcement will be at 11:40 AM PST!

It is now time to announce the winners for The Smiley Face Award!
This award is extra special since these awards can be given to those that
didn't necessarily enter the workshop as artist. This award is for
the person and not the art. They took the workshop's goals and helped the
workshop reach those goals - to encourage participants to grow as artists
while having a good time in the process!
The second place/runner up to this award didn't submit an entry into the
workshop, but nonetheless made an important impact on the workshop itself!
Working tirelessly, this person helped to improve the workshop's goals and
did much planning and farming for a very special donation that goes beyond
what others could even imagine ever doing!
What is that special donation, you ask? Well, you're here, aren't you?
I am very happy to give the second place/Runner up award to *arghore*!
Congratulations and thank you for planning and hosting the Workshop party,
including all the personal donations you gave so the party could have
even more giveaway prizes!
The first place/winner of this award is also well deserving of this award!
In fact, the winner was one of the very first people to *post* in the thread!
The judges aren't the only ones who think this person is worthy of an award
since this person was very popular and among the top contenders for The People's Award!
Although this person was nominated for a beautiful and moving art entry as well,
this person deserves the Smiley Face Award for being a great muse to others
and helper of the workshop's goals.
I am very happy to give this award to *GeminiJuSa*!
So, to summarize our Smiley Face Award (SFA):
SFA Winner - GeminiJuSa; SFA Runner Up - Arghore!
Congratulations and the next announcement will be at 11:50 AM PST!

Well, we're reaching the home stretch and it's time to start giving out the
top awards! Right now, it's time to announce the 2nd and 3rd place
winners for The Best Progress Award!
Now, one thing to remember is that the workshop's main goal is to help people
grow as an artist - irregardless of their starting level. As you can imagine,
this made these awards very difficult to hand out, because all of us judges
could see that many of our participants were indeed growing as artists! This
award was so difficult to give that we ended up having to do a second round of
judging, because we couldn't all agree until we narrowed down the pool into finalists!
Our third place winner was actually hesitant about entering! However, this entrant
braved an entry and dove into the heart of the workshop - giving feedback and
advice unselfishly! In fact, this person was also one of the top contenders
for "The People's Award," which showed that the judges weren't the only ones
aware of how this person really reached to grow as an artist and help others!
I am very happy to give the 3rd place award to *Obastable*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!
Our second place winner also grew as an artist over the course of the workshop,
listening to feedback and improving the art piece! This nominee was also one
of the contenders for the Campfire Award thanks to the absolute adorableness
of a baby asura!
I am very happy to give the 2nd place award to *Rahtschini*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!
So, to summarize our Best Progress Awards so far:
2nd place - Rahtschini; 3rd place - Obastable!
Congratulations and the next announcement will be at noon PST!

And now it's time to announce winners for The People's Award!
This award is dedicated to all the Workshop entrants, because this award
was completely all of yours to give! And, just as we judges had a hard time
choosing winners, it looked like all of you had just as a hard a time as we did!
The second place/runner up for this award fought hard and absolutely earned this award!
With others nipping at this awardee's heels, each of your votes were crucial and
showed how each ballot really made a difference - all the way to the very last vote!
This awardee truly deserved your votes and in fact, was also a finalist for the Wintersday
Artist Extraordinaire Award! Helpful, insightful, friendly, and especially talented
are all words to describe this nominee who also gifted the workshop with gorgeous banners!
I am very happy to give the 2nd place/runner up award to *Kiya Koreena*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!
While there was a fierce battle for 2nd through 5th place for this award,
there was almost no doubt in everyone's mind who should be the first place
winner of this award! Early on, this awardee took the lead and would not give it up!
Not only that, this awardee was a very close contender for the Wintersday Artist
Extraordinaire Award, having dominated many of the other award categories!
I'm sure the winner of this award is no surprise, because this person truly deserves it
for being encouraging, helpful, and friendly to everyone in the workshop!
I am very happy to give this award to *Death by an Arrow*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!
So, to summarize your People's Award winners:
Winner - Death by an Arrow; Runner up - Kiya Koreena!
Congratulations and the next announcement will be at 12:10 PM PST!

---

It's finally time to announce the winners for the two biggest awards in the workshop!
The Best Progress 1st place was no easy decision. After reading and rereading, your
judges combed through *quite a few* posts to find the artist most worthy of this award.
This artist has shown the dedication to improve their art piece while offering worthy critiques.
This artist's personal drive has shown that this award is indeed well deserved!
I am very happy to give this award to *Olrun the Blade*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!
Finally, we have the Wintersday Artist Extraordinaire Award to give.
This was a fierce battle and the awardee should be immensely proud of this award.
Nominees for this award had to both be in one of the top ten in "The People's Award" AND
one of the top ten in total points for the other five awards chosen by the judges.
Only five participants fit that criteria, and from those five, only one truly deserved this award.
Not only did this awardee fought for and earned all your votes for "The People's Award,"
this awardee also earned high marks for "The Smiley Face Award" and "The Most Epic Award!"
This person's positive attitude, friendly advice, and amazing artistic talent truly
shows this award is theirs and theirs alone.
I am very happy to give this award to *Morag D*!
Thank you for participating and congratulations!
So, to summarize this award announcement:
Wintersday Artist Extraordinaire - Morag D; Best Progress Award 1st Prize: Olrun the Blade
Now I will need some volunteers to venture off with me and act as witnesses for the /roll for
those that qualified for The Mysterious Raffle! Results will be at 12:20PM PST!
At 12:40PM PST, Arghore will announce the Wintersday Spirit Award!
Congratulations to all our award winners so far!

Arghore, added

EDIT: still mostly for arghore: just noting that we might have some extra bonus awards to give out since some people noted that they decline RL or ingame prizes. Those probably won't be announced live and will instead be included here after the raffle when I can see who's still eligible for prizes and what prizes we have left after the declines (but I should be able to figure it all out by 12:40PM PST)
